Daniel Shoag is Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Economics at the Weatherhead School of Management, and an Associate Professor of Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, where he is also affiliated with the Taubman Center for State and Local Government. His research examines state and local public finance, labor markets, and regional and urban economics, and has been published in leading academic journals as well as featured in outlets such as The New York Times, Bloomberg, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal. A Forbes “30 Under 30” honoree in 2012, Shoag has served as a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, a visiting professor at Tel Aviv University, and a rising scholar at Stanford’s Center on Poverty and Inequality. He holds a B.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.
